how can i tell if my 1997 civic hatchback has a catalytic converter?

currently has a 2.5 inch straight pipe on it not sure if what im seeing is a resonator on the exhaust or a catalytic converter. soo im not sure if i need to replace just the muffler part or the whole thing.

and last question

would this come with a catalytic converter? (will buy if i need a full exhaust)

My fiancee and I are expecting a baby in Dec. We both feel we need a larger car. We have 2 good size dogs, a little dog, and a baby. I want an SUV because we live in the sierra mountains and get lots of snow. We also like to cramp.

Here are the cars we have right now
2000 V8 Dodge Pick up short Bed small Cab. Poor MPG No room for a Fam.
2000 Subaru Impreza wagon. Good in snow ok MPG Small.
2002 Subaru Impreza wagon. Things are starting to go. I would like to get rid of it before I have to drop 1,000s in to it.
1972 Plymouth Satellite , Classic car we only take out for fun now and then. BAD MPG.

I think we should sell my 2002 Subaru and his Dodge. Take that money use it as a down payment for a Grand Cherokee with low Milage. He likes the jeeps. He will not part with his dam truck. He drives the 2000 Subaru more anyways. It makes me so mad. I am not asking to get rid of the classic. I think 4 cars is too much.

Hi, I have a full time job at a truck stop/Subway. I work three days a week at the gas station and two days at Subway (which is in the same building as the truck stop). I also have full time college, all online classes. The work part I don’t mind, but the college I really do not enjoy. Its community college, and I think I’m mostly bitter about attending because I couldn’t afford my dream school (my father even promised me he would cosign on a student loan, and backed out at the last minute).

I don’t mind being busy, but I’m just not happy. I’m mentally and physically exhausted. I can’t quit my job because I need the money and I can’t quit college because in a couple years I’m going to transfer to a better school. How can I cope with being tired all the time? Its hard for me to concentrate on my college work, I don’t know if any of you guys have ever had any online classes, but its not always easy to teach yourself stuff.

The only thing I’ve got to look forward to this year is a couple of concerts, the rest of the year I’ll be busy with college and work. I’ve never been the happiest person in the world, but lately is the most I’ve been depressed in a long time, I don’t want to be like this for the next two years. Any tips from anyone with a similar situation?

I’ve also recently went through a bad breakup, but haven’t we all? But it still doesn’t help the situation out.

project name SSX trailblazer. 2006 ss trailblazer with LS2 engine.Intake upgrade,performance exhaust, high flow catylytic convertors,and headers. apparently Jim didnt have enough power because the zo6 corvette was faster so we put a GM Performance Parts Hot Cam performance camshaft. all told after PCM reprogram. this truck is pushing 478 horsepower. beat that with your 200 hp honda.

I have a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge. I want to add some extra stuff into it. Maybe just for looks or for performance. What would be nice for this truck? I have a 2000 chevy box truck 3500, 16 ft, its diesel 6.5 engine. I have a 2 part question, right now the truck needs the engine replaced, it was used for NYC commercial work. It has 92000 miles on it, not alot for what the truck can handle, the box is clean, and has a liftgate, i want to know the value of the truck now in its condition, and also its value if i replace the engine, the engine replacement might cost me about 3500 dollars, i just want to know if its worth it to replace than resell, or replace and use it or just sell as is …. it has other minor cosmetic things like the dash needs to e worked on and the front lights but thats almost nothing. If anyone can help me get a price quote on the trucks value with a new engine and as is. Or if you can guide me to a site that can help me see the value of the truck like a Kellys blue book for trucks or a NADA for trucks Thanks

I have a 1991 Acura Legend L 2 door coupe i bought it from a used car dealership with 115,000 miles right now it has 127,000 never gave me any problems still runs strong, i use nothing but the best for this car 91 octane, mobil 1 extended performance synthetic oil every 6000 miles, anyways the only part that i really don’t like is its automatic transmission!!!!!! I hate automatic i hate it with a passion i feel like a somebody took my man card away cause i drive an automatic. Every car or truck i had was stick shift and i broke the tradition, but i love the car and like i said i like everything about it except the automatic. Anyways my question to you is how much would it cost me to order the factory Acura Legend type II(2) 6 speed gear box only found in special edition legends like the gs coupe not the standard L, how much it will cost to swap it out and can it be done? I am pretty sure it can be done? And if you know any aftermarket 6 speed gearbox that will fit my car let me know as long as its good quality? So let me know what the total cost and labor would be if i take it to a qualified mechanic to swap it out? P.s. i don’t want to here the answer oh its not worth just get another car thats stick shift no, no no i chose to keep this for a reason but i want to turn it in to stick shift and have fun.
